I’ve written before on the Monroe Institute blog about the idea of a global consciousness. If you haven’t read that yet, I encourage you to check it out at the link below to get an idea of what exactly global consciousness, or collective consciousness, is in theory:

As mentioned in the previous article, global consciousness is the idea that we are all connected on a metaphysical level. There is a system of information carried around in energy form that we can all connect to that covers the entire span of at least this planet, if not beyond. In simpler terms, it’s a metaphysical and not-fully-understood way in which we are all connected. It’s supported by the evidence of trends popping up on opposite sides of the earth suddenly and simultaneously in a way that seems to defy logic. This doesn’t mean, however, that there isn’t a scientific reason behind it. Several projects around the world have tested this theory. Today I’m writing about the Global Consciousness Project. Formed by a collaboration of scientists and engineers of many disciplines, the Global Consciousness Project measures the results of a network of random number generators placed in 70 host sites around the world.

The idea is that these random number generators will continually put out a chaotic sequence of zeros and ones; however, based on several studies that have currently been done on these random generations, researchers have observed noticeable spikes in the data coinciding with major events of global impact. What’s even more interesting is that another study I read up on noticed that not only did these random number generators spike in times of major global events, but they spiked highest in events that brought people together in situations where we needed to unify to deal with a common problem. Based on those findings, one could surmise that when we come together to work on a problem as a massive human unit, a measurable shift in the entire world's energy occurs.

Formed by a collaboration of scientists and engineers of many disciplines, the Global Consciousness Project measures the results of a network of random number generators placed in 70 host sites around the world.

While this data isn’t substantial enough to provide any real proof of discovery at this time, it’s important to note that the scientific community is placing value on studying the concept that we are more than our physical bodies and that somehow we are all connected in a way that can potentially be measurable when we come together for a greater purpose. This hypothesis is truly inspiring and thought-provoking in the modern world of both meditation and science.

I’ve been fascinated by the idea of global consciousness ever since I first read about it. I’m a firm believer in there being a science behind the unknown, and everything we consider magic is just a form of science that has yet to be discovered. Global consciousness is one of the largest pieces of this puzzle. Many studies in the works are proving the reality of our energy skills such as intuition, remote viewing, and other psychic phenomena. This is a form of science I am looking to delve into as I continue my studies, and I hope to be able to report back more on the Global Consciousness Project soon.
