Discovering Yourself With the Multi-Dimensional Crystal Exercise
As I was meditating today in Focus 12, I reflected on what diverse, contradictory, and fascinating beings we each are. A person wearing many hats and having many interests and traits can seem contradictory—for instance, I love adventure but also need and value peace and serenity. It just depends on the situation and the time when I crave one over the other. The exercise that brought these thoughts to mind is called “Multi-Dimensional Crystal” by Andrea Berger, which can be found in the Expand app.
This meditation walks you through the experience of finding a crystal and realizing it is your TotalSelf, with all your facets fused into one shining gemstone. It allows you to see and experience the various parts of yourself while also visualizing them merged into the beautiful total being that is… you!
As I saw these different aspects of myself in the Multi-Dimensional Crystal, the most refreshing part was seeing them all come together into one solid person, a strong person I am proud of.
This exercise quickly revealed all of the distinct and unique “Malories” that exist within me. Somehow, they live in harmony despite being so different from one another. There’s the explorer Malorie who loves getting dirty and finding exciting discoveries out in the farthest reaches of the world. On the contrary, there’s the homebody Malorie who enjoys staying in, sitting by the fire, and relaxing. There’s the writer/storyteller Malorie who loves sharing the most unique tales she can find from around the world, and there’s the quiet, shy Malorie who prefers fading into the background. I saw so many pieces of myself, each quite different from the next and many contrasting in nature. Isn’t it funny how complex we are?
As I saw these different aspects of myself in the Multi-Dimensional Crystal, the most refreshing part was seeing them all come together into one solid person, a strong person I am proud of. Somehow, these seemingly contradictory traits and personalities seamlessly merged into this perfectly crafted “me” that embodied each of them simultaneously. I became proud of the person I am by seeing the pieces and also the whole that makes me, me.
It’s a bizarre yet moving experience to see different aspects of yourself separately while also seeing yourself as one solid, complete person.
What I find so special about this exercise is that it’s different than the ones I used to discover my iThere while in Starlines. My experiences in Starlines were just as groundbreaking and moving; however, they were starkly different to this one, which seemed so easy and fun. It was the perfect way to explore self-discovery and find out more about myself. It was also the perfect exercise to remind myself of all I was working on and which facets of my soul were working towards these goals.
It’s a bizarre yet moving experience to see different aspects of yourself separately while also seeing yourself as one solid, complete person. For that reason alone, and to also get a good grasp of your TotalSelf, I encourage you to try the Multi-Dimensional Crystal exercise in the Expand app today.
